The Rottweiler breed originated in Germany as a herding dog. In fact, it is one of the oldest breeds used for this purpose and it is believed that their ancestors are the oldest Roman herding dogs.

Currently, the Rottweiler is used as a search dog, rescue, rescue dog guide, guardian or police. In recent years it has been listed as a dangerous breed dog because of multiple incidents that occurred in several countries, related to bites or attacks on people.

2.-  In Spain, the Rottweiler is considered a dangerous breed of dog and you need a special license to have it at home


3.- You need a strong and dominant trainer to train this powerful race. The Rottweiler is extremely intelligent and excels in many sports and competitions, but can become very stubborn, so obedience classes and special training is not suitable for beginners terrain canine recommended. 4.-  They are a relatively healthy breed but not without some typical disorders of large dogs, such as hip dysplasia. In addition, the Rottweiler are prone to obesity and there have been some cases of cancer deaths, in addition to cases of osteochondritis dissecting, a disease that manifests itself in the shoulder joints, caused by the rapid growth rate of the race. Also common are eye problems.

5.- The Rottweiler live on average 10-12 years.



6.- They need activity and long walks to keep your muscles strong and prevent joint problems.

7.-  The origin of its name comes from the German city of Rottweil, where the Roman legions left some of his cattle dogs.

8.- As for the relationship with other dogs, the Rottweiler breed is very dominant. Often aggressive with other dogs but with a good training from puppyhood can prevent such behavior.

As you have found, the Rottweiler, like any other dog, must be educated and properly trained to avoid dangerous situations that are imposed by its large size and its lack of social education.

  1. I totally agry with you in fact it is a beautiful race :3 I think that despite what they say any dog is bad or dangerous, depending on who has it and how it will train the dog.
